About
I'm Alex Feliciano: artist, maker, engineer, teacher and life-long learner. I design and build interactive things for the web, and I've been doing it for over twenty years.
I started in graffiti, which taught me to work in a crew: everyone brings a skill, the piece gets better, and nobody gets precious about it. That habit carried into agencies and product teams, from Los Angeles to Atlanta, where I worked on sites for brands like Arby's and Genworth, and on enterprise software at WebMD, ADP and PowerSchool.
I don't have a degree. I learned by making things, breaking them and fixing them, and I still work that way. These days I'm based in Calgary, rebuilding my old Flash work in modern code and looking for a team that cares about how software feels to use.
What I do
Build
Interfaces, interactive pieces and animation, from Flash and ActionScript to modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Rive.
Make
Painting, cast sculpture and mixed media. Studio Feliciano is the home for the work that isn't on a screen.
Teach
K–8 engineering and computer science, and art classes for the community. Explaining a thing is the best test that I understand it.
